WPA encryption Wireless Networking resolved

Researchers have found a method to break through the encryption feature is used to secure the wireless network system. This method is performed without the need to dictionary attack or brute force (try different combinations to try to guess the password used). The full details will be discussed at the annual conference of the 6th PacSec in Tokyo next week.

Based on the information PCWorld, two researchers named Erik TEWS and Martin Beck has found a way to break the Temporal Key Integrity Protocol (TKIP) encryption used in Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA). They can solve sophisticated TKIP encryption in about 15 minutes. Note that the encryption solution is only valid for encrypted data placed from a PC to access points, they do not break the encryption keys used to secure data is encrypted before from a PC (eg HTTPS, SFTP, etc.).

TKIP previously been known to have a weakness against dictionary attack, but the method described by TEWS and Beck does not use a dictionary attack, but used data from the access point using WPA and combined with mathematical trick that finally broke the encryption code.

Some elements of the encryption code solution has been incorporated into the application Aircrack-ng (link removed intentionally), which is made Beck's own application to assist parties in the network security penetration testing.

Tew is not a new person in the practice of solving Wi-Fi encryption. In 2007 he managed to solve 104-bit WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy). WEP protection used by big U.S. companies to secure the TJX wireless network transmissions from the store cash register them, successfully penetrated by some criminals who use encryption weakness, causing the biggest data leakage in American history.

Because features WEP and WPA encryption is no longer able to maintain the security of wireless data tansmisi, the experts suggest to all parties to use WPA2. But if your PC / laptop you do not support WPA2 encryption, you can also secure your wireless network by choosing the AES encryption TKIP replaces the usually becomes the default encryption method WPA.

Save Data on the CD scratched

At the present time data storage media the most secure, durable, large capacity and cheap is a CD (Compact Disc) and DVD. With the price of 52x Drive is practically CDWriter relatively inexpensive almost a prerequisite for the completeness of a PC. Market sold various brands and materials CD-R / CD-RW with the quality and price range.

CD quality is determined by the price sometimes expensive. Although they're expensive but if your treatment of the CD should not, of course this is nothing - nothing. Apart from any CD that you have, have a chance to scratch, mildewed, broken, and so forth.

Now what if we have a CD with data, files - important files in it can not be read because it scratched, moldy, etc.. On occasion this time will only give priority to writers tricks to save the data on scratched CDs.

Paper Battery

Paper dreamed one day become a battery to operate a number of electronic devices. Now, scientists from Stanford University in California claim to have managed to create it.

A sheet of coated paper and silver ink from carbon materials is very small to be a 'paper battery'. "Taking advantage of the latest paper technology, low production costs, and high-quality energy storage is now realized by using conductive paper as current collectors and electrodes," the scientists said.

'Paper battery' can run an electric or hybrid vehicles. As a result, this paper technology has the potential to be a prima donna in the future. Understandably, the size and the battery-life is still a constraint in the supply of energy for cars and trucks.

"People are now obviously more expensive battery needs, but capable of storing high energy. 'Paper battery' answer," said the assistant to the group of scientists, Yi Cui. Previous research has also found that a very small cable can be used to extend the battery up to 10 times more than lithium-ion battery.

Cui also promote the battery can be used for all types of electronics and applications requiring instant high power. Peidong Yang, a professor of chemistry at the University of California-Berkeley, said the technology will be commercialized in the near future.

How To Setting IP and DNS In Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex

One fairly annoying bug in Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex is the problem of static network connection settings. Every time we create a profile setting static networks, each restart will definitely return to profile Auto eth0 (dhcp).

  • ispose of Gnome Network Manager service in order not to run at boot time. Run the command:

$sudo update-rc.d -f NetworkManager remove

  • Manually edit your network configuration files, by adding a static ip address, gateway, and netmask is used. Run command

$sudo gedit /etc/network/interface

  • Enter a line like the following (adjust the ip address of your network);

auto lo eth0
iface lo inet loopback
iface eth0 inet static
address xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx(Enter Your Ip)
netmask xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
gateway xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx(Enter Your Gateway)

  • Next give nameservers by editing the file / etc / resolv.conf. Run command

sudo gedit /etc/resolv.conf

  • add the line;

nameserver xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx(Enter Your ip dns primary)
nameserver xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx(Enter Your ip dns secondary)

  • Restart your network service

sudo /etc/init.d/networking restart
*Reconfiguring network interfaces… [OK]

Intel Larrabee Soon Ready to Compete With the NVidia & ATI

Intel is now rumored to contain the emergence of a new graphics processor named Larrabee, which is scheduled to be sold starting next year.

The chip maker some time ago had made a statement Larrabee will begin marketing in 2010. A spokesman for Intel's now revealed that it was seriously developing Larrabee, but did not determine when the time of its release.

"Next year, the new Larrabee samples will be sent to the developer, so they began to perform the test," Intel spokesman explained it. Larabee marketing means would not be carried out in 2010.

In September, Intel Larrabee has been demonstrated at Intel Developer Forum (IDF) held in San Francisco. From the results of the IDF, Intel promises will mengelurkan Larrabee next year, but did not mention a specific time.

Larrabee itself will become Intel's first graphics processor. The chip will carry the X86 architecture. As a result, would be working on Larrabee graphics processor capabilities fully. By this means the 'green camp' Nvidia and 'red faction' AMD, will have a new rival competition drew more graphics industry.

Firefox 3.7 Support Direct2D

The next-next generation of the Mozilla Foundation's popular web browser - Firefox 3.7 - is set to get a significant speed boost on Windows systems thanks to Direct2D support.

First unveiled on programmer Bas Schouten's blog - via PC Pro - the news comes just days after Microsoft claimed that Internet Explorer 9 would support the acceleration technology as a way of improving its lacklustre performance when compared to rival browsers.

mozilla 3.7

This plan appears to be coming unstuck, with Schouten declaring that his team members at Mozilla "are now able to present a Firefox browser completely rendered using Direct2D," which offloads the work of rendering the actual browser UI as well as page content onto a compatible graphics card.

The results of the experiment are convincing: while certain text-heavy sites such as Wikipedia.org and Slashdot.org didn't benefit from a great deal of improvement, sites including Facebook and Twitter were rendered in less than half the time on the Direct2D enabled build of Firefox 3.7.

As well as improvements in actual page display times, Schouten believes that Direct2D offers the potential for a smoother user experience with "extremely smooth graphical experiences for web-content like SVG or transformed CSS" as well as improved framerates when resizing images via GDI. Perhaps most importantly, Direct2D promises truly smooth scrolling - the most obvious improvement to the user experience.

For those wanting to try out the Direct2D-enabled Firefox 3.7 alpha - and who are running Windows 7 or an updated copy of Windows Vista along with a DirectX10-compatible graphics card with WDDM 1.0 driver - you can download it immediately. The usual caveats about relying on alpha-grade software apply, and sadly this is Windows-only.
